Fabric bags for RNC Profumerie: a valuable product to enhance the product
We design and manufacture every type of packaging for both brick-and-mortar stores and online retailers. In this article, we explain how we created an exclusive fabric bag for RNC Profumerie, a well-known Milan boutique.
The case in brief: a fabric bag to enhance RNC Profumerie
RNC Profumerie is a brand of Rancé 1795, renowned perfume producers since the late 1700s. The founder, François Rancé, was a French perfumer (also admired by Napoleon Bonaparte) who moved the business to Milan at the beginning of the 20th century. The boutique has been passed down through seven generations but has never lost sight of its distinctive traits, continuing to produce perfumes and other cosmetic products with natural ingredients. Furthermore, the company expanded by establishing RNC, its cosmetics division, in 1838.
A history of excellence that requires unique packaging capable of telling and exaltig its story. That is why the owners of RNC contacted us asking for the possibility to produce a fabric bag in natural material, made with high-quality materials, designed by them. A larger and sturdier pack to enhance the product, thereby avoiding the use of standard and anonymous packaging.
Our proposal: a heavy cotton double-face fabric bag
When RNC Profumerie asked us to make a large and exclusive natural fabric bag (to contain gift sets such as fragrances, shower gels, and other natural cosmetics), we immediately set to work creating a pack that met their requirements.
The client provided a clear idea of what they expected: a bucket-shaped fabric bag. We then began working on the project considering which – among the various sustainable materials available – would best showcase prestigious cosmetics and perfumes, offering sturdiness and ample capacity.
We proposed the production of a heavy cotton double-face bucket constructed from two types of fabric:
- for the body: heavy canvas cotton in a burgundy color
- for the closure: eco raw natural cotton
The closure features a drawstring with shiny cylindrical satin cords. The bucket has considerable depth to provide ample space for containing various product types.
Consultancy on colors, logo, and design
As RNC is a historic luxury brand with a focus on natural research, we proposed several color and fabric combinations capable of emphasizing the uniqueness of the brand and the offered product. During this consulting phase, we guided the client’s selection, taking into account both their requests and market trends.
In this case, to highlight the tradition and quality of the business without overlooking the need for robust and spacious packaging, we chose heavy canvas cotton, offering various shades linked to RNC’s brand identity.
We then considered printing the logo and lettering, opting for a gold hue that is refined, precious, and elegant. Great attention was also given to the font choice: simple, clean, and sophisticated.
A sample to test the bag firsthand
Once the bag’s colors, lettering, logo, and any accessories (such as the cords) were chosen, we created the first prototype of the heavy cotton double-face bucket.
We then sent it to the client so they could see it firsthand, try it out, and assess whether the product met their expectations.
Production and shipping: the final stages of a streamlined process
Sending the prototype to the client before starting production always allows us to understand whether what we deliver meets their needs or if adjustments are required. In this case, the heavy cotton double-face bucket sample satisfied RNC Profumerie’s requests, and we promptly began production to deliver within the agreed timeframe.
For this order, we were asked to produce 2,000 to 3,000 customised bags. Including design, prototyping (and product shipping), production, and printing, we delivered the product within 15 days.
