Any parent – or caregiver – of children with intellectual disabilities dreams of a society without barriers. Barriers to learning, work, social interaction, and emotional connections. Too often, however, they face a different reality: one of deprivation, exclusionary environments, and denied opportunities.

It is precisely from the strength and vision of a group of parents that Vite Vere was born: a social cooperative that focuses – among other things – on job placement for people with Down syndrome, creating welcoming and dignified environments where everyone’s potential can truly be expressed.

We had the honor of collaborating with them on a project of profound value. Continue reading the case study to find out more.

The client’s request: panettone bags for an interactive experience

The Vite Vere cooperative, which annually produces homemade products for the Christmas fundraising campaign promoted by the namesake Foundation, discovered us online while browsing through our made-to-measure proposals.

For this year’s Christmas, their request was very specific: a fabric bag to hold the artisanal panettone, designed as an object for creative experimentation even before being a Christmas gift.

The Vite Vere logo – a stylized heart – would not simply be printed by us but intentionally left “blank.” The finishing touches, with brushes and colors, would be added by the young people of the Atelier In.Perfetto, the cooperative’s creative workshop, the true protagonists of this interactive experience.

The product could be considered “finished” only after their handcrafted touch. A simple but powerful detail that turned each creation into a unique piece.

Production process, timing, and final result

After just 7 days from the initial contact, we already had a custom-made quote ready for them, tailored to their needs, quantities, and materials. From there, the collaboration took off, following our usual approach: continuous exchanges, personalized samples for size and color, and bespoke guidance at every stage.

During the initial testing phase, we produced a first prototype without printing to allow the client to assess proportions. After the first trial, they requested an increase of 5 cm in size to better accommodate the artisanal panettone. This led to the creation of the second sample, this time complete with screen printing using water-based ink – an ecological choice, free from chemical additives – to bring their graphics to life.

For the closure, a drawstring with satin ribbons in shades of red and gold, 1.6 cm wide, was selected according to the client’s specific request (compared to our 1 cm standard).

The final result? 6000 panettone bags produced in Oeko-Tex® certified natural raw cotton, delivered within 21 days. Packaging enhanced with details recalling the warm colors of Christmas and a logo intentionally left “in suspension,” ready to be hand-finished – exceptionally – not by us.

    A synergy looking ahead

The proceeds from the sale of the panettone – held in this special packaging – will support all people with disabilities who have found employment through the activities organized by Vite Vere, and will fund their projects: theater, dance, cooking, crafts, training paths for parents and children, and much more.

Distribution is planned for Christmas 2025, but Vite Vere is already moving ahead with the Easter dove cakes, for which they have already asked us to “warm up the engines” – or rather, the looms.

A collaboration that has left its mark: for them, followed step by step throughout the production; for us, glad to have contributed with our work to a project of inclusion, indeed of social cooperation.

Are you also considering fabric packaging for your solidarity project?

Tell us your idea. We are ready to listen and transform it together into an original and made-to-measure solution. From materials to fabrics, to printing, we will bring all our bespoke attention to highlight what matters most: the message you want to tell.
