Following the Covid-19 emergency, we have also decided to do our part and temporarily convert an area of our business normally dedicated to the production of fabric bags, to manufacturing double-layer natural cotton protective filtering masks, entirely Made in Italy, washable, and hypoallergenic.

The emerging need in recent weeks
We live in a unique period and the Covid-19 emergency has required severe restrictive measures throughout the country: social distancing, quarantine, and closure of all non-essential businesses and productions. Each of us is asked to do our part, act responsibly, and stay at home. However, with the sharp increase in infection cases and following containment measures, personal protective masks began to run short on the market, and many businesses, including ours, had to close following Government directives.
The challenge we faced
Within a few days, like many companies not classified as essential services, we found ourselves having to completely stop production, which had been the pride of our brand for years. Added to this was the distribution issue: due to the virus, delivery methods are slower and it is complicated to make deliveries over wide areas.
Our response
We decided not to stop entirely because we want to contribute in this serious emergency and make our expertise available to the community. Thanks to the extensive experience gained in the textile sector, along with our resources and equipment, we managed to make available, for those who wish to purchase them, fabric protective masks in a shell-shaped model.
These are double-layer natural eco-friendly cotton filtering masks certified OEKO-TEX®, 100% eco-sustainable. They are intended exclusively for public use for personal protection but, we emphasize, are not suitable for medical use or in workplaces.
They are made from very high-quality cotton fabric, making them easy to wash by hand or in a washing machine and reusable multiple times. Compared to single-use non-woven fabric masks commonly purchased in pharmacies, they are therefore more environmentally friendly. Additionally, they provide high coverage because they fit snugly around the nose, mouth, and cheeks. To wear them, pass the upper drawstring over the ears and the lower drawstring around the neck.
The distinctive feature lies in the type of fabric used and the manufacturing process.
Indeed, they are made from natural cotton with a very dense double layer and the outer flap is made of water-repellent cotton, which filters microbial passage as well as saliva droplets expelled when talking, sneezing, and coughing.
Our cotton masks are completely hypoallergenic and can be washed many times: soaked in water and bleach, washed in a machine up to 90°C, or boiled. We decided to sell them in pre-packaged kits at cost price, which we distribute directly.
However, we clarify that we cannot guarantee their effectiveness in preventing bacterial or viral infection transmission. The production complies with the Ministry of Health circular (0003572-P-18/03/2020), which introduces, with reference to article 16, paragraph 2, of Legislative Decree 17 March 2020, n.18, the possibility of using filtering type masks. Therefore, they are not FFP2 or FFP3 and do not constitute medical-surgical devices. They are thus not suitable for medical or workplace use, but exclusively for public use.
