Custom fabric bags for Bresaole Pini

In this article, we explain how we created a made-to-measure fabric bag for cured meats for the well-known Valtellina company Bresaole Pini.
The case in brief: a made-to-measure bag for a premium product
Bresaole Pini is a well-known food company in Valtellina. Founded in the 1980s, it has since been engaged in the production and packaging of high-quality bresaole. Over the years, the company has significantly expanded its plant and workforce, while preserving its core values linked to artisanal craftsmanship and high product quality.
The company contacted us to request a custom fabric bag that would simultaneously highlight the brand and the product. The company boasts a wide range of bresaole, including prepackaged portions in trays as well as whole batches. One of these products is La Leggendaria, a bresaola made from French Limousine breed meat. A premium product that the company decided to enhance with packaging by requesting a made-to-measure, product-fitting bag made of ecological and recyclable cotton.
Our proposal: a shaped bag in ecological cotton
When Bresaole Pini approached us to create a natural fabric bag to showcase La Leggendaria, we immediately set to work creating packaging that met their requirements. Among the various sustainable, natural, ecological, and recyclable materials available, we proposed a grey mélange cotton with a medium-heavy fabric weight of 180 grams. This allowed us to give the bag the unique shape requested by the client (mirroring that of the bresaola), emphasizing the fabric's closeness to the product.
We put our proposal in writing and, upon receiving the client’s approval, we launched the production process, starting with product prototyping.
Consultation on colors, logo, and design
An important phase of our work involves consultation. At Sacchetti di Tessuto, we listen to the client’s needs and develop their requests to create a product that reflects their ideas as closely as possible.
We provide our expertise to guide the client in making the right choices regarding fabric, colors, and other important details, suggesting possible enhancements (such as colored ribbons or the best positioning of the company logo) to create unique and original packaging. In this case, to emphasize the product’s tradition and value, the bag was made with simple yet elegant grey mélange cotton. We then opted for the logo and lettering printed in black, a shade associated with luxury, using ecological water-based inks. The font chosen for the lettering was also a simple but sophisticated style, blending cursive and uppercase for an interesting and refined ensemble.
A sample to verify the product
Before proceeding with prototyping the bag, we asked the client to send us a piece of La Leggendaria bresaola to understand the exact product dimensions and perfectly develop the bag shape. We then created a faithful prototype based on the shape of the bresaola, respecting the agreed fabric, color, ribbons, and printing specifications with the client. For the bag’s cut, we opted for hand-shaped cutting.
We then sent the sample to Bresaole Pini’s headquarters so the company could verify the final result firsthand.
Fast production and rapid shipping
Sending the prototype always allows us to immediately verify any modifications or improvements to make the shaped bag for bresaola perfect. In this case, the sample was immediately approved by the client, so once the prototype was approved, we started production to meet the delivery of 3000 pieces within the scheduled timeframe.
